Microderm is a great way to rejuvenate and aesthetize the skin, which can cleanse the pores and eliminate acne, stains and many skin lesions if it is done properly.
What is a Microderm?
Microdermabrasion was first performed in Italy in 1985 and was later used in most European countries as an uncomplicated method for rejuvenating and removing dead skin cells. Microdermabrasion is a method in which, using a special device, a very fine-grained aluminum oxide crystal comes in contact with the surface of the skin at a regulated pressure and creates a superficial abrasion on the upper layers of the skin.
In addition, a suction is performed on the skin, which removes the crystals from the surface of the skin, as well as improves blood flow to the area and activates fibroblast cells, resulting in skin repair and refreshment.
Who is the Microdermabrasion useful for?
Adults who are physically healthy and have relatively minor skin diseases are the best people to use microdermabrasion.
Microdermabrasion is a non-invasive procedure that cannot remove the drooping of the skin or deep lines. Other methods such as laser lifting and skin tightening should be used to solve these problems. Microdermabrasion is a great option for patients with fine lines and wrinkles, sunburn, pigment inequality, age-related stains, skin tissue or small scars.
How is the Microderm done?
To perform the microdermabrasion, the skin is first thoroughly cleansed of any makeup, then, depending on the type of skin and the lesion as determined by your doctor, the Microderm is performed in various directions and on multiple sites.
It takes about 20 to 30 minutes on the face and 20 minutes on the neck. After treatment, the face is cleaned and then washed with lukewarm water. An astringent cream is rubbed in place.
What are the uses of Microderm and why it is preformed?
Prohibited Use of Microderm
What are the proper intervals and the number of Microderm repeats?
Generally, depending on the type of problem, and according to the doctor’s diagnosis, the number of sessions for rejuvenation ranges from 4 to 6 sessions and from 10 to 12 sessions for removing stains and clearing skin. The interval between sessions is from 1 to 4 weeks.
Before and after microdermabrasion recommendations
Patients should refrain from exfoliating and anti-stain drugs for two days before treatment up to 72 hours after treatment, and after the microdermabrasion, use sunscreen more accurately and every 3 hours. Use of hot water is prohibited up to 24 hours after treatment.
